What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is the complete medical system known as the ¨Mother of all the healing¨. ¨Ayur¨ means ¨life¨ and “Veda” means ¨science / knowledge¨. “The Knowledge of life¨. Its treatments are based in medicinal oils and natural plants which are beneficial for our health and very effective for the complains and current diseases.

Tibetanian medicine and Tradicional Chinese medicine have their roots in Ayurveda. In the Early days, the Greek medicine also shared many of the concepts described in the ancient and classics Ayurvedic texts dated thousands of years ago. That is why we can assure without many doubts that probably Ayurveda is the origin from the current Medicine, even though the approach is completely different.

Ayurveda offers a whole natural healing system with the wisdom to help people preventing, maintaining and regaining health, while being supported mentally, so they can develop themselves to their highest potential during their journey.

During the colonization period, Ayurveda was very oppressed in India, as result, many of the most ancient Vedic texts were destroyed. The knowledge was conserved and protected thanks to the Vaidyas, and those transmitted it from generation to generation. The literature existent dates more than 5000 years ago. Since their effective treatments are proven from thousands and thousands of years and they bring hope and amazing results to current diseases without having secondary effects, it has been resurged, accepted and respected now more than ever in the world.

Chemical and secondary effects versus Nature and Health

The health is the balanced and dynamic integration between the environment, the body, the mind, and soul. Ayurveda studies these interrelationships giving us guidelines about what to eat per the individual constitution, how to behave, the correct use of our senses, how to act depending on the seasons between others, supporting all the functional systems without harming any organ. It is based in the 3 energies present in our external and inner environment; Movement, transformation, and structure.

It is designed to promote happiness, development, growth, health, and creativity. Ayurveda defines life  “Ayur” as the combination of: “Sharira”, body – “Indraya”, senses – “Satva”, mind –  “Atma”, spirit/soul.
